SECOND ANNUAL BASEBALL FUNDRAISER, NEWARK BEARS STADIUM
September 14, 2001

The view from the Bear’s Stadium will never be the same after the events of September 11th. The Twin Towers which were seen over center field are no longer there. It has been a sad week. The US Marine Color Guard joins us this year for a solemn day at the ball park. We remember Leo and those who perished in the attacks on New York and Washington.

FIRST ANNUAL BASEBALL FUNDRAISER, NEWARK BEARS STADIUM
September 17, 2000

What do ABC NEWS Anchor Connie Chung, former NY Yankee Rick Cerone and hundreds of Newark public school students have in common? They were all a part of the first annual Newark Bears baseball fundraiser for the Julio "Leo" Puente Newark Scholarship Fund. The stadium was filled to capacity, nearly 7,000 people attended.

"Julio Puente embodied what Newark is all about. He was extremely active in the community, and the Bears are proud to give back to the kids of Newark in his name."

~ Former NY Yankee, Rick Cerone
